We are about to take delivery of an Elekta EVO linac. This linac has a new Gating Interface and we have been told by another Elekta centre that we will need to upgrade to AlignRT v7.4 in order to be able to use SGRT with the new linac. The upgrade to ver 7.4 includes a new server and so roll out of v7.4 across all our linacs and AlignRT workstations.
We have heard from VisionRT that to use AlignRT v7.4 we need the latest linac operating system (only present on the latest EVO linacs). Therefore we are a bit stuck: if we go to AlignRT v7.4 we will not be able to use it on our older linacs, but if we don’t we will not be able to use it on our newest linac.
Has anyone else run into this issue yet?

are you sure you have understood the service engineers correctly, as i would be surprised if it doesn’t have backward compatibility? We are on 7.3 with varians. I would clarify it is indeed a choice of either / or not all linacs. if it is, then i guess you have to choose! or use two servers

We are having to upgrade to AlignRT v7.4 due to having the new response box for Elekta on our most recent system. I have been reassured by our technicians that AlignRT v7.4 will work with any version of Integrity and gating option and therefore will be able to upgrade the full compliment of AlignRT systems and continue to use them on our older linacs.
